We have won a number of notable awards. We also continue to be well positioned on sustainable development indices.

Indices

FTSE4Good

TUI Travel is listed on the FTSE4Good Index in recognition of our transparency and for meeting strict social, environmental and governance standards. We are also ranked above average for our sector.

Carbon Disclosure Project

In 2011, for the fourth consecutive year, TUI Travel was featured in the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index. TUI Travel is the only tour operator to be featured in this index and our score places us in the top 10% of the FTSE 350 for our approach to carbon disclosure and performance. Dow Jones Sustainability Yearbook

TUI Travel was featured in the 2011 and 2012 Dow Jones Sustainability Year Book which features the best performing 15% of companies who submit data to the index in each industry sector. In 2012, TUI Travel received a Silver Class distinction and Sector Mover status for its outstanding achievements in the area of corporate sustainability.

Forest Footprint Disclosure Project

TUI Travel completed its second submission to the Forest Footprint Disclosure Project in 2011 and was one of eight companies listed in the Travel and Leisure Sector in 2010.

World Travel Awards

TUI Travel PLC received the World’s Responsible Tourism Award 2009.

UNESCO Tourism Awards

Easy Market received the Tourism Culture Award in 2011.

Tourism for Tomorrow Awards

Intrepid Travel received the Global Tourism business award in 2011.

British Travel Awards

First Choice was awarded Most Environmentally & Socially Responsible Large Tour Operator (2007-2010) and Thomson Airways was named Most Environmentally & Socially Responsible Airline (2006-2010).
Exodus won a silver award for the ‘Environmentally and Socially Responsible Small Tour Operator’ category in 2010.

TTG Travel Awards

TUI UK & Ireland received the Travel Gives Back Award (2009 and 2010).

Co-operative Travel Star Awards

TUI UK & Ireland was recognised for its work on sustainable tourism (2008-2010).

West-Flanders Charter for Sustainable Development Award

Jetair received the award for a third year in a row (2008-2010).

Practical Boat Owners Awards

TUI Marine was awarded the Green Award for Service in 2009.

Travel Feather Awards

TUI Nederland was awarded the Green Feather in 2009 for its sustainable tourism activities.

Responsible Tourism Awards

First Choice was Highly Commended by the judges of the Best Tour Operator award for the second year running in 2008
Gecko’s Adventures was named Best Tour Operator in 2007 and The Imaginative Traveller was Highly Commended for the same award
Peregrine Adventures was Highly Commended by the judges of the Best in a Mountain Environment award in 2007

Travel Weekly Australia

Peregrine Adventures was one of only two travel companies to be awarded the maximum five Green Leaves for sustainable tourism initiatives in 2009.
